What is the Euribor 1 month rate
The Euribor 1 month rate is the interest rate at which a panel of European banks lend and borrow funds from each other for a period of one month. It is one of the most important benchmarks for short-term interest rates in the eurozone, as it reflects the cost of borrowing in euros for various financial institutions and corporations. The Euribor 1 month rate is calculated daily by the European Money Markets Institute (EMMI) based on the average of the quotes provided by the participating banks. The rate is published at 11:00 CET every business day on the EMMI website and other financial platforms.
The Euribor 1 month rate is influenced by several factors, such as the supply and demand of money in the interbank market, the monetary policy of the European Central Bank (ECB), the inflation expectations, the economic growth prospects, and the geopolitical risks in the region. The rate can also vary depending on the creditworthiness and liquidity of the individual banks that contribute to the calculation. Generally, a higher Euribor 1 month rate indicates a tighter monetary condition and a lower rate indicates a looser monetary condition in the eurozone.
